Ambergris Caye, Belize

Day 17: After arriving at the Xanadu Island Resort, I unpacked and discovered that people mostly speak English here. My hotel was on the ocean so I could go swimming whenever I pleased and the food seemed good. That night, I enjoyed a nice dinner of rice and beans and lobster. For dessert, I had Belize Fruit Cake.

Day 18: One of the things I wanted to do in Belize was go parasailing. And it was so much fun! I loved being up in the air, looking down at the ocean and cities of Belize. It was only fifteen minutes but it felt like forever. The boat ride was forty five minutes but I also got to see more islands and enjoy the ride. For the rest of the day I swam and

relaxed.

Day 19: Today was the day for snorkeling and diving. Shark Ray Alley was popular for swimming with sharks and rays but I was a bit terrified at first. Throughout the rest of the dive I grew more comfortable and learned to enjoy the thrill of swimming alongside a shark.

Day 20: My trip is over and it is time to head back to Chicago. I have to admit, after visiting all those places, it was kind of hard to go back but I missed my family and friends and the beautiful, flat city of home.
