Desert Homestead Lodge

We are already having breakfast at 7 am for our journey to the next destination. First 80 km paved road and then 250 km over gravel. We all drive a lot except Gijs because he takes the pictures. Ine drives through a deep pond in this dry area and the car is immediately initiated.
What a diversity of landscapes and natural beauty.
When we arrive at the lodge we are welcomed with a drink after which we go to our thatched and nicely decorated houses. Refurbish, relax by the pool and enjoy the surroundings. We see the first springboks in front of the house, many will follow. The calm environment is disturbed at night by a strong wind. Early in the

morning on the road for our trip to the Sossusvlei where we will climb Dune 45, with safari car through the soft sand we are brought to Deadvlei for a special, strenuous walk under the blazing sun. Many animals seen such as the springbok, warthog, ostriches and gemsboks. An overwhelming experience in a nature surrounded by red sand dunes.
