The route leads us through various landscapes with low plains and mountains in all kinds of colors and shapes. You can't call it boring this long way. Due to the strong wind the plates and lunch blow from the table, so on to our next destination Hobatere Lodge. According to the description, the lodge is located 1 km from the entrance to Ethosha Park, but that appears to be 16 km. A nice environment and friendly welcome. The cottages are connected and close to the main building where we enjoy all the animals that come to drink at the drinking place by the pool and on the terrace. We see giraffes, springboks, gemsbok and guinea fowls. We can do a sundowner drive from the log. Martin is our guide who tells a lot about birds, trees and surroundings. There are many mountain zebras in the area that can easily move around in the rocky mountains.
We drink a little outside the car close to a drinking place where we see huge elephants (height 4 m). Ine and Han are photographed for grandchildren with an elephant in the background. On the terrace is a fire pit with 6 chairs where we drink a carefully selected bottle of red wine. During dinner, the staff sang and even the chef comes from his kitchen. We are guided to our houses because there is a chance that wild animals are walking around. In the night around 4.00 we hear the screeching and barking of animals. The next morning we see the footprints of lions in front of the terrace, so who knows what happened.
