The battle of the bulge took place on December 16th, 1994. It took place in Belgium and Luxembourg during World War Two. bulge was Germany's last defense. This was a war that lasted almost 5 weeks and Germany was on the defensive. the primary military objectives were to deny further use of the Belgian Port of Antwerp to the Allies and to split the Allied lines, which potentially could have allowed the Germans to encircle and trap the allied forces. Hitler believed that by doing this, he would be able to end the war at and would force America to accept a peace treaty in which they U.S. would not benefit. On January 1st, 1945 the German forces caused damage that was severe on that allied air bases in northwest Europe that they could not recover from. The Allied still had a little fight in them encountered attacked later on pushing Germany back and towards the end of the month the Allied powers had successfully defeated the Germans. At the time the British prime minister said the battle of bulge was the greatest battle in American history but also one of the bloodiest. The allied had managed to drain Germany's manpower and their material resources. It remains one of the most important battles of ww2 because it was marked as the last major offensive front against the allied powers.
