The forecast was showing that it was going to get bitterly cold again, so we mustered some excess energy and took a trip to the zoo while it was still nice out. It was well worth the effort and we will certainly be back! It was very well done, with many, many animals I have never seen before/had no idea what they were, and Finn is still talking about the monkeys. It must be heavily subsidized because tickets were only $4.50 for adults and free for kids under 7! It was a little alarming that there weren't lids on many of the cages for things like cougars and tigers, but Lev didn't get eaten this time so they must know what they are doing. We probably only saw about half of the exhibits because the boys were getting tired, and with a 1km walk back to the bus we didn't want to push our luck. As it was, Finn fell asleep on the way home, which meant I had to get our disassembled stroller pieces, Lev, and the backpack off the bus on my own. This living-in-Siberia-with-two-small- children thing is definitely making us tougher.
