Franny’s Awesome Cruise VOL. II

Yesterday, at the end of the year, we found ourselves at the end of the world. What a mythical place to be on this new year’s eve. The ominous and feared Cape Horn where thousands of souls have perished at sea over the centuries. If it wasn’t for it’s exclusive location Cape Horn would be just another rock in the ocean but countless tourists come here to visit the albatross-shaped monument at its top and a family actually lives here to operate the lighthouse. They even have a tiny chapel and a little playground for their two children.

After dinner different artists and the board band put together a little showcase for the passengers and I got to perform my 8 minute visual poi act backed up by Annika and Naoto (who learned the finally routine in no time) and it’s fair to say that we really kicked ass! I’d even dare to say that that theater has never seen such applause.

That highlight couldn’t be topped by the extremely short party that literally lasted only 45min nor the following caviar buffet and champagne floods. After 1am almost everyone was in bed already. We did have some good laughs with the leftover passengers for a while but the music at Sansibar (the supposed late night venue) was so infuriatingly awful that we just hung out a little in my cabin and went to bed rather early. What a shame we’re not allowed in the crew bar, the real party place on this ship.

Anywhoooo… Happy new year everyone!
