Franny’s Awesome Cruise VOL. II

Two days ago, after traveling more than 1000km back up north, we landed in the little town of Castro on Chiles second biggest island Chiloé. Oh what colorful pleasure it was to visit that charming place after the unfortunate grayness of South Patagonia. Castro reminded me of a miniature version of San Francisco (Funnily Castro is also the name of San Francisco’s gay district) with a fairly Swedish look and in fact the whole area around it with its many islands and gentle hills is called the Scandinavia of Chile.

Yesterday we spent the day in Puerto Montt not far from Castro. A little city that offers a breathtaking view on the two snow covered volcanos Calbuco and Osorno and the Andes and where I had once again a nice encounter with a young man named Lucho who drove me around the place and had me train my Spanish.

At night we performed our second show and it went perfectly. The theater of MS EUROPA which is not used too big bursts of enthusiasm was trembling from the applause and many guests have been giving us very good feedback. All in all, now that the sun is back with us (kind of) the atmosphere on deck is back to being pretty jolly. Especially today at the Bavarian themed lunch with live music, Weißwurst and copious amounts of beer and Obstwasser.
