Chan May South Vietnam, 25.03.2017

In Chan May Vietnam, our tour today takes us to Hue the imperial city and former Capital of Vietnam. We are now in South Vietnam our last stop was northern Vietnam. There is no income tax here, but they have a purchase tax of 100% on luxury items like cars, and this is the reason there is hardly any cars on the roads, just millions of mopeds and bikes and being on the road here is an extreme sport believe me. Today we saw a man woman and three children on one moped, probably off to do the weekly shop. 75% of the population of southern Vietnam are Buddhists who believe in reincarnation and is plain to see by there kamercasy style driving. They also don't celebrate birthdays but they celebrate deathday and worship there dead parents and ancestors, I wonder whether they still have a cake with candles and paper hat, Bren thinks not and said who would blow out the candles. Our tour took us round the Hue city and the sights, the emperor's palace ECT. The last emperor had 104 wives and no children , thinking of becoming a Buddhist and certainly looking like one. We had a great Vietnamese meal in this lovely restaurant which we arrived at by dragon boat, first time for me. Sail away and comedian and bed at last. Tomorrow at sea.
