We had breakfast and spent some time organizing our day and making a reservation for tonight. We still don't have cell phone capabilities unless we find a free wifi. Pretty nice ride - no rain and partly cloudy. Still chilly going 100 km down the road. Stuck to the main roads in order to make some time. Highway 102 to 104.
Stopped for lunch in a cute little town - very Scottish - they were having some Highland games. Met a real character dressed in his kilt who had a beautiful dog - reminded us of our Gracie. It was a cross between a Great Pyrinees and Bernise Mt dog.

Halifax - Baddeck NS
Made it to our destination and finally saw some blue sky. We're in a very old Victorian B&B on the third floor with a little balcony.
Spencer made a run to the store for some wine and Canadian whiskey - were set for the night.

We got a sure late start out of Halifax after a decent hotel breakfast. I was concerned with rain and distances but VB assured me pressing on was the right option. After a failed attempt to find a bike shop with decent clothing options, we headed north to Truro to search out shops there. Nice road with little truck traffic. Saw a couple on loaded bicycles with a kid in tow from France - amazing!
No luck in Truro so we headed east to Antigonish for a tasty meal in a pub. Credit cards make for easy purchases so we carry minimal cash. The machines read the chip the way it's designed to be used and tips can be added as desired. I have to resist a beer during the day so coffee is its surrogate opposite.
VB found a place to stay in Beddeck and she navigated as we passed the 33,333 mile mark (I love this bike). Forests as far as you can see...no way all this timber can ever be cut. Bikes coming from the opposite direction (mostly BMW's) made me excited about our destination - Cabot Trail here we come.
The weather was still dicey as we crossed the waterway to Cape Breton Island. In Beddeck we found the Telegraph Inn which suited us. VB took a long bath as I walked to the store for wine and whiskey.
After I soaked, we walked to a resturant where a musician played and sang about the island. We ate lightly and had a beer before retiring for the evening.
