Got an early start on a beautiful day. We've got to knock down some miles today so we can make our ferry on Thursday. Drove thru at least 10 picture book quaint towns. Some catering to the ski crowd but some just rural communities. In between rivers, lakes and green lush woods covering the mountains. All perfect motorcycling roads. Stopped to eat at another bar and grill. Good thing we're only eating one big meal a day or we would definitely be putting on the pounds. Ended up in Lebanon NH - Our 1st 2 hotel choices were booked - staying a step down from the usual but ok. Spencer is totally worn out and sound to sleep.
Tomorrow we head for the big city of Portland and our CAT ferry ride. Got to get up early - so lights out

Before leaving Ithaca we tried to find one of the waterfalls that dumps into the lake. Road closing kept us from finding it so we pressed on. We kind of decided reaching our destination was priority and we'd catch the scenery on a more leisurely return home.
We had it in our minds to eat at Spectacualtor but only made it to the Ohio Tavern where we had fried coliflower, chicken caeasar salad, and a Ruben. The big crowd of teachers made it hard to enjoy a quiet meal.
This ride across New York brought back memories. I can't say enough about the scenery of this country. The occasional road work and delays don't bother me so much - it's the continuous bumps that interrupt the pleasures. This state is probably one of my favorites for overall beauty - it's a shame we always think of the big city congestion instead of the rural beauty of New York.
