Nova Scotia 7-3-16

We keep waking up earlier - this morning at 5:30. Had a great breakfast - Spencer's favorite; French toast, Canadian bacon and finally some fruit. Our innkeeper maintains this huge house with a little help from her 88 year old father. She's looking to sell soon. Can't imagine the upkeep and long hours.

Headed out to ride the Kancamagus Hwy. Lots of big mountains and rivers. It is heating up - 95 in Vermont - what's with that? Went thru the White Mountains and then ended up in the Berkshires for the night.

After a restful night in Gus' room, Mary Ann fixed us almond smothered French toast and Canadian bacon. VB had to like this!

After a restful night in Gus' room, Mary Ann fixed us almond smothered French toast and Canadian bacon. VB had to like this!

Headed toward Conway (the Gatlinburg of NH) and passed up the opportunity to ride up Mt.Washington - memories of Pikes Peek still linger. These are some beautiful mountains and the roads are well maintained. Moose warning signs still have produced no sightings.

The Kancamagus road was delightful and we stopped along the river just to watch the water flow. I wondered how many tumblings it takes for rocks to get so round. Photo opportunities at way points of nothing but mountains, trees, and sky. Just beautiful!

As riding goes, this is great touring. When asked if she was a "motorcycle chick", I thought VB said she was a "maturing motorcycle rider". I got a smack for that one. I must have lost "touring" in the translation. But actually we have become more acquainted with the journey, road, bike, and each other over the years. I just wish my throttle hand wouldn't cramp so much.

The day would not be complete without a few interstate miles sprinkled in amongst twisties. I phoned ahead to make reservations at an older style motel. Pool and grounds needed work and the night cap was expensive. We did have our own creek side room. Still haven't watched any TV - we are in bliss and don't need to be bothered with the worlds unhappiness.
