Today is sunday, so my first week is already over. It goes so fast! This week i introduced an English course for my children. I made a puppet from my sock and named him Spotty, the snake because of his many colours. The kids had to introduce themselves and say the colours in English. They were so enthusiastic! Next week is gonna be the birthday of Spotty and i will teach them "happy birthday".
Also there was a quiznight this week for the volunteers. It was so much fun! I drank a Peruvian beer, named Cusquena, and it was not bad at all, i can say as a belgian. ;)
This weekend i explored Cusco a little more. Yesterday there were parades all over Cusco with people dancing in traditional clothes. Apparently they do this every weekend, to celebrate saints, virgins and life. I also went to little markets and found the coolest things! I already bought some traditional jewelry, socks and a pullover. After lunch ( we ate 3 courses in a really awesome vegetarian restaurant for 4 euros!) we went up a hill to see the cristo blanco. Normally this is in Rio, but they also have it in Cusco. The climbing was a little harsh, but it was worth it! The view all over Cusco was so beautiful! Today i will go to the chocolate museum, as the Peruvian cacao is really famous and i love chocolate!
Next weekend i will do a trip to the Titicacalake! More next week!
