My diary

I was so excited to take a quick day trip to Oxford. It's an absolutely beautiful city with so much to see and do. I also had a great tour guide who took me around, my cousin Jaynisha! We first had a quick breakfast at a local independent coffee shop as I had arrived a little bit before most of the sights and museums opened. After breakfast we walked towards the Museum of Natural History. There was an exhibit going on which featured important bacteria throughout history.

Oxford

I was so excited to take a quick day trip to Oxford. It's an absolutely beautiful city with so much to see and do. I also had a great tour guide who took me around, my cousin Jaynisha! We first had a quick breakfast at a local independent coffee shop as I had arrived a little bit before most of the sights and museums opened. After breakfast we walked towards the Museum of Natural History. There was an exhibit going on which featured important bacteria throughout history.
After that we headed to the Pitt Rivers Museum which houses so many different types of artefacts, photographs and manuscripts. One of the most interesting (or disturbing) artefacts that we saw were the

shrunken heads. These shrunken heads were created by peeling off the skin and hair and discarding the skull. The the hair and skin were put in a hot water bath and hot sand was poured inside the skin cavity. That process was repeated several times. These shrunken heads were also the inspiration behind the shrunken animated head on the knight bus in the third Harry Potter film!

Then we walked towards the Bodleian Library for some great pictures, as well as the "Bridge of Sighs". After we quickly went to go see just the bottom of Christ Church and the stained glass windows inside. With about an hour before my bus was due to arrive we quickly went to the Ashmolean Museum to look at some of the Greek and Roman exhibits.
I'm definitely going to be back in Oxford on a sunny day to take in all the sights from above as well as more Harry Potter filming locations!
