Stratford Upon Avon! Such a cute little town just south of Birmingham on the bank of the river Avon. A fun fact about the naming of British towns is that if they were located on a river they always followed the form of 1. the name of the place, 2 "upon" and 3. The name of the river. Thus we get Stratford upon Avon!

Stratford Upon Avon is best known for being the birthplace of Shakespeare and where he spent his childhood years. The house where he was born is on Henley street which was such an amazing little street. It had cute gift shops, candy shops, a Christmas store and a store that sold Harry Potter merchandise! We walked along Henley street for a while before deciding to trek to Anne Hathaway's cottage. Now this isn't Anne Hathaway movie star, but Shakespeare's wife Anne Hathaway. It was a lovely little place and we walked through some cute streets and parks to get up there.

When we were done at Abbe Hathaway's Cottage we walked back into town past Shakespeares Schoolroom and Guildroom, where Shakespeare went to school and experienced theatre for the first time. Then we walked by some public parks which surrounded the river Avon and took some amazing pictures on that sunny day.

Our last stop was the Stratford Butterfly Farm. It was so much fun to walk among all the butterflies, a couple of birds, a surprisingly large iguana and a pool full of fish. It was really fun when the butterflies would land on us without us knowing. I was actually walking for about 10 minutes before a lady pulled me over and told me there was one stuck to the back of my leg.

Unfortunately that was the end of our time in Stratford-Upon Avon but i would definitely recommend this place to anybody looking for a small day trip in England!
