Our engagement letter with Artisman was contractual in nature and addressed our objectives, scope, assumptions, deliverables, milestones and constraints of the project. Our objective was to evaluate the current U.S. market and to strategize a potential market entry strategy for Artisman smart factory solutions to gain market share and brand identity in the United States.The experience of writing the engagement letter was quite enriching. It allowed us to design and rethink our project strategy. There are times when a consultant knows about the goals that needs to be achieved in the end but envisioning the process and developing deadlines for completion of each task is sometimes difficult to anticipate. The exercise of drafting the engagement letter while keeping in mind the both our client's business needs, language barrier and cultural sensitivities and our own limitations and constraints gave us an opportunity to put the plan on paper.
It was not difficult to figure our the outline of the plan but the design of relevant sub-components for the outline required intensive discussion sessions, virtual team meetings via Skype and excellent document management and update system.
