Day 6: Tuesday (part 1)

Lalibela, 01.07.2020

Entry 1
Dominika and I got up early so that we could invade Mason and Jordan's room to take panoramas of the sunrise from their balcony. They got a great view!

Entry 2
Apparently Mason's shower is trying to electrocute him, so he's borrowing ours. Yikes.

Entry 3
We're going on another hike this morning. I want another shower. Trevion and I didn't make it all the way up to see Bete Giyorgis (the Church of St. George pictured on the program handout). My knee definitely wasn't making it up the hill that the "shortcut" took us up. It was way too rocky, and everyone else was struggling without knee problems added into the mix.

No thank you. HOW DO THEY DO THIS BAREFOOT???

Entry 4
We waited for the minibus that was going to take us to the airport in one of the local marketplaces. Mason and Jordan decided to go souvenir shopping. All four of us girls just huddled together to watch each others' things and had awkward conversations with some people that would randomly come up to us. Some of the locals wanted to practice English with us, but mostly little boys wanted to wash our shoes. We all politely declined.

Entry 5
The ride down is just as bumpy - if not more so - than the ride up. We were all bouncing around in our seats...come to think of it, it was kind of like a strange rollercoaster. Huh.
