Day 9: Friday

Addis Ababa, 01.11.2020

Entry 1
Our first stop today is the US Embassy! I'm excited to see it, all of the embassies tend to be really unique in one way or another. We're setting off soon and I'm munching on crackers in the meantime. I'm not very hungry, but I really should eat something.

Entry 2
Ashley has left her passport on the bus...not sure how this is going to go.
Update: She made it through by giving them her insurance card! Thank goodness.

Entry 3
The US Embassy visit was really interesting! The gentleman that we met with was very informative on the air quality initiatives and was very transparent with us, which I appreciated. We met in the embassy library, which had a jazz theme (love it).

Entry 4
After we had lunch at Lucy's again (Jordan and that dang tortoise, man) we went to the Faculty of Science campus for our final lecture with Dr. Tibebu Assefa. Out of all of the lectures, this was my favourite. Dr. Assefa took us on a journey through how the built environment affects people and ecosystems. It was really fascinating! He even talked about Broken Window Theory and how it applies in industrialized society (thank you psychology and criminal justice minors for preparing me for this lecture! I knew about a lot of the information, which helped me to better understand how to apply it).

Entry 5
We have somewhat of a free day for the rest of the day since Dr. Abegaz is visiting his father in the hospital, so I'm going to work on our projects to try to get ahead. There's a lot of work to be done...

Entry 6
Well, that was a lie. I fell asleep like the lazy person I am.

Entry 7
Tomorrow and Sunday are shopping days for souvenirs, so it looks like this is my last entry. Honestly...what an amazing trip.
