Beautiful Pennsylvania roads. Lush farms with little traffic. I wondered where my Moravian roots were in this country - Brewer's were dairy farmers here before they were in North Carolina. They had to be content even if they were Yankees.
Lunch at Kafe Sol Resturant - great roast beef sandwich and potato salad. Road construction broke up travel - mostly bridge work but some areas could use resurfacing. The repeated bumps, which I assume are seams in the road, pound my pillion.
Threaded the needle - put on rain pants but didn't need them. Milder temps and cloud cover make for great touring days.
Passing the turn for the Flight 93 Memorial brought chills again. We saw the signs on the way up and so many memories of that day flashed before me. How terribly tragic and frightful for our country. I guess the jihaad will continue until the end.
Cool afternoon ride on a thrilling road into Maryland. We crossed the Mason-Dixon Line and let out a rebel yell. Winding around mountains dotted with wind mills. Single lane bridge. One of best roads on the trip.
Turned down our initial room because our window faced a block parapet wall. This was a good thing as the sunset was breath taking! I had Burger King out of boredom. Uggh.

Very nice roads - and Rhubarb pie at Kafe Sol in Mount Jewett, PA.Cute place and waitress was from St. Simmons.
Took refuge at a picnic table at St. Benedict Church in Caroltown. Needed to get out of the sun, rest and study maps. Storms to the north and south but we missed them all. Lucky today.
Went on some wild mountain roads with big windmills all around and ended up at the Hampton Inn in Frostburg. Spencer traded our view less room for one with a spectacular mountain view. We watched the sun go down and played some cards (SSB won all 3).
