Day 1 - 382 miles

After getting thru our big summer plant sale and taking care of a zillion details at work so we could be gone for two weeks we were finally ready to leave. Our employees assured us everything would be taken care of - Tara & Rob said they would start by setting up a Kegerator at our house and shaving Gracie. (Gypsies in the Palace)

Left around 8:30 - beautiful morning to ride. Headed out 156 toward Calhoun - then to Elijay and lunch in Dillsboro at Kosta's. Good place to eat - we probably had the same thing we got last time, a gyro and a ruben sandwich. Starting to heat up so we headed for a higher elevation - Spencer has a goal of making it to Roanoke today - seems a little far.

Found two great roads today we have never ridden on - 209 and 208 in NC. Twisty turns they call the "rattler" that took us thru Hot Springs, NC. Lots of bicycles and motorcycles traveling this area. The AT crosses thru the town of Hot Springs - lots going on in this little town.

Went thru Greenville TN - we had stayed her before - very pretty town - but can't stop yet - miles to go before we sleep. Made it to Wytheville and found a room at the Hampton. Pretty much worn out but needed to stretch our legs before heading to bed. Clouds are looming and it looks like rain - yuck
