The first week at UC is gradually coming to an end and I decided to celebrate it by starting a blog about my involvement into the kiwi culture. This diary will serve as a travel journal, as a chest for my memories, countless new experiences and unforgettable days that pass.
Even though still feeling a bit alienated in a new country that doesn't stand in a way of experiencing little facades of life.
As I have already noticed western education is greatly based on essay writing, so I hope that this blog will help me to develop my writing voice, to start writing more compelling and to reveal critical thinking that comes with looking at things from different perspective. Who knows maybe by the time I come home, I will be sounding like a kiwi Shakespeare? Or at least to refine my kiwi English, I should gather and assimilate woolly jargon and inane, regional turns of phrase.
There will be different columns of various topics every week: food (NZ fruit in particular), sports, places I have visited, cultural expects, books and of course NZ cinematography, that in my point of view remains novel in a not kiwi world.
Please, don't clam up, write some comments back if you like, that will inspire me to write more and I hope that you will be looking forward to listening about my adventures from down under;)
