Travel Diaries was founded in 2014 by Veerle Witte, a Dutch travel journalist who contributes to National Geographic Traveler and other outlets. She was inspired to start the service after a four-month trip to South America a few years earlier. For that adventure, Veerle had wanted a way to keep an online dairy that would include articles, maps and photographs, but she couldn’t find a site that combined all those elements, along with some degree of creativity. After much tinkering and developing, Veerle created Travel Diaries, an online platform that enables everyone to create and publish their own personal travel journals. Even better, the journals can be shared as blogs, with the option of transforming them into printed books. These days, Travel Diaries has earned the trust of thousands of satisfied customers and Veerle works with a team of travel-loving experts making sure that Travel Dairies offers the latest in technology and design. Travel Diaries also produces quality content for its own bilingual travel blog and various social media networks, including Facebook and Instagram. Their mission is to inspire people to travel the world and help them to capture their explorations and adventures in a unique and lasting way.
