Jamille & Sacha's Americas trip

We say goodbye to Mama Bear who is off home and Jamille and I finish the road alone driving straight through to New Orleans. Our farewell from Dallas is a naked man on the side of the highway. I’m driving so I don’t get a good look but Jamille assures me his appendage is huge.

Now, we’ve been practising what to do if we get pulled over by the cops. I’m not gonna say we wanted to be pulled over but it’s important to get the full cultural experience. The drill is keep your hands on the wheel and announce loudly, “I don’t have a weapon officer!”

Not long before crossing the Texan border, we come across a few police officers on the side of the road, one of whom appears to flag us down. Despite the automatic butterflies, we remember our training and Jamille starts to slow down while I recall our lines.

Disappointingly, he waves us on and points to the pick up behind us. The pick up driver doesn’t see this though and continues merrily on. Suddenly, it’s on! The cops get in their car and start the chase with lights flashing. A few miles down the road, the pick up gets flagged down by other police and it’s all over. To celebrate our near miss, we put ‘Bad Boys’ on the radio. I then tried to follow it up with some rap songs but I’m too old to recognise any of the songs in the playlist.
