Formalities dropped Pradeep is now Nick’s best mate, his nickname is Raju and now we’re all calling him that. We head off for Triveni Ghat down in Rishikesh town where the daily Ganga Aarti ritual takes place. This is a big event for the locals, people who come down from remote villages and visitors alike. As a large group of Europeans we attract quite a crowd, everyone wanting ‘selfies’ with us. Raju tells us the people from the hills might have only seen a European on TV, we felt like TV stars! The Aarti ceremony was spectacular and it was an honour to take part in this ancient tradition at the side of the Ganges. We all had a wonderful time dancing with the crowds afterwards, a truly memorable moment. Then it was back to the hotel for the amazing buffet!
