Today we saw Greenland and cruised alongside it a bit but were not able to land for fear of not being permitted to re-enter Canada. As EU citizens, we do not need passports to enter the country, but the boat does. We anchored at Conical Rock, opposite Crimson Cliffs on the coast of Greenland. Not very imaginative names, but undeniably descriptive. We saw black guillemots (smallish, black & white, red legs) and glaucous gulls. And a dramatic iceberg. Frankly, not worth the trip across the Baffin Bay. We cruised down the coast a short way south to Kap York, in glorious sunlight and had toddy and dancing on deck in an attempt to quell the potential mutiny.
I have read: The Sunday Philosophy Club (Alexander McCall Smith). Riding Tycho (Jan Mark). The Boy Who Lost His Face (Louis Sachar). One Across, Two Down (Ruth Rendell). Watchman (Ian Rankin). Enjoyed all to varying degrees. Must get the navigator to update my map… Presentations as recorded above.
