Grace's Holiday

We have stayed in Wolfgangsee for the 3 days. After breakfast we walked up a hill and saw lots of trees, a creek and lots of wild flowers. At the top of the hill was a church - St Wolfgang's church.
St Wolfgang was a bishop of Germany and came to live in the mountains as a hermit. Because so many people came to visit him, to cure them, he decided to build a church. He threw his axe into the valley and said, "where ever it lands, I will build my church to God there". Then the devil offered to help build the church but he wanted the first creature that came through the door as payment. Austria and England

When they finished building the church, a wolf came in and the devil was hoping it was going to be a human. He wasn't happy. When we got in the

church, we saw his little hermit cave. I also rang the church bell.
That night mum and dad bought me a traditional Austrian dress called a dirndl for my birthday.
The next day we hired some bikes and rode around Lake Wolfgang. It took about 2 hours through forests and bogs and then we caught a ferry back home.

The first day in London we went to see the Royal Mews - all the Queen's horses. We got to pat two. Londonderry and Daniel (the Queen's favourite one). We saw a beautiful gold coach that is only used for coronations. Then we went to the Tower of London where all the crown jewels from 1066 to 2016 and kept. At the Queen's park we

saw squirrels and one nearly jumped on me. We also saw Big Ben and it rang while we were there. At the Natural History Museum I saw dinosaur bones, fossils, a blue whale and volcanoes and earthquakes. There was a little room with groceries and two tvs. It was a reply of what happened in real life in an earthquake in a supermarket that lasted for 6 seconds. The floor moved as the tv's played.
That night we saw "Matilda" the play for my birthday. It was amazing. Mrs Trunchball was played by a man!
The next day was MY BIRTHDAY!!! I got a watch that tells me how far I walk. I spent the day in the pool with a new friend called Charlotte at a camp ground. The sun was still up at 9 pm.

New words I learnt in London:-
I already knew them. They speak english.
