Pacifiic Roadtrip and Beyond

Old Faithful spouted regularly and the kids had their Junior Ranger books ready to record the time and predict the next eruption. We were stuck in a rain downpour on the way there, but after 20 minutes it was gone. We were able to enjoy some ice cream on the deck of the Old Faithful Inn, see some spectacular geysers and bubbling hot springs of blue, orange and yellow algae and set up our camp at Grant Campground. Again another thunderstorm, this time with pea-sized hail, waited until we got our tent trailer set up – thankfully! Let’s not forget to mention that the trailer did hold up in the downpour, so if we encounter that kind of weather in the night, we will most likely stay dry! The evening ended with the surrounding trees posing as houses and rooms of which the children created and an evening ranger program made us glad we were staying in the park.
