I am "ON THE RIVER"...

It’s 5:30 p.m. and the fog has rolled in. The rain has not stopped. It continues to spit now and then, hopefully to give up by morning. I have floors to paint and to do it in brighter light would be better not to mention it should take less drying time when I can open the windows.

Tony left this morning for Toronto and Guelph, a ballgame with his buddy Craig and then to have a visit with his Dad. It is very quiet here, there were no boats today except for Tony heading down river after a hearty breakfast. (I am trying to use up some food). I occupied my time packing up a few things for home when time comes. Don’t

know what I was going to make with all the Coconut Milk I brought in at the beginning of the season, must have felt like Pinã Coladas. Not on the menu. I hate hauling things back home. I made a casserole, comfort food now which I will probably pick at all week.

I think I am not alone on the River, I still see the Brodie outboard at the dock across the bay, tonight I will check for their lights. The fire in the wood stove is comforting, I have been outside to bail a boat and it is cold. Coming inside was very pleasant. I will read, paint what needs to be painted and to Tony’s chagrin, maybe paint some more. I will prep what I can for Thanksgiving, my freezer will be filled once again for our closing weekend.

The wind has settled down after the big storm that affected so many. Trees are down here and branches are everywhere but this can be all cleaned up, nothing compared to what others are enduring. I must say though I have never seen waves over four feet high in the back channel, white caps pounding the docks and the shore. Makes me wonder what it is like here when winter rears it’s ugly head. The thought leaves me though as I know I will not nor do I want to have that experience.

It was/is hard to say goodbye to those who have left for the season. I wish them all a great year and look forward to when we all gather again, smiling faces, all so happy to be back. Keep healthy and embrace what is to come.

Happy Birthday to Donna today, I hope your day was extra special. I trust you celebrated well and enjoyed some family time over a great meal. Cheers!

The photo of the shore is just after the storm, slowly calming down,

the sun peeking through what were very stormy clouds. It left as quick as it came, heading straight for North Bay. I did video some of the storm but am unable to include it here. I know there will be more storms, I just feel so good when they are over! Talk later....by the way kids I promise next time I will report in and let you know we are okay! Practice what you preach, right?
