Blogging from my fold-down bed on the overnight train, I just woke up from the best night’s sleep I’ve had here yet. I was really tired last night and was ready to fall asleep before dinner was ever served. I ordered chicken in cashew sauce but by mistake ended up with Andrea’s chicken and vegetables in oyster sauce. I’m not picky and it was good. I passed out by 9 and didn’t get up until 6ish. Surprisingly, the train was silent. Andrea is still snoozing below me so I’ve been reading my books about the next city and planning things out. Breakfast and coffee was served a little while ago. The only issue with the train is the lights never went out but with my mask it was fine. As with everyone we’ve encountered here so far, the staff is unbelievably friendly and eager to please. We have about another hour until we arrive. Once Andrea wakes up we’ll make some decisions but I see wats, elephants, cooking, hiking, markets, and massages in my near future.
