My thirst for more adventure and islands brought me to Torsö - Thor's Island. It is the largest island in Vänern and Vänern is the largest lake in Sweden. Again this is a place where one of Mia's best friends comes from so it all comes together nicely now.
Not much seem to happen on Torsö but they did get a bridge instead of a ferry about 20 years ago. Some locals still seem to be in shock.
The island was white, still and oh so quiet. I hiked around for a bit and sat down for a rest in the deep snow. My burk almost froze up completely so I quickly had to get indoors to become a varmkorv!
On the way back I stopped by the old korvkiosk on the mainland to pay my respects. This is also the point where one can admire the bridge and they've put up a sign so one is not mistaken that this is the bridge. Not that there are any other bridges to choose from..
Since I am a bit on the short side, a young man was kind enough to help me so I could admire the wonder that is Torsöbron.
Let's just say I was moved. I will take you here one day Mia. One day..
