Saturday 10/21: I woke up super early because I heard that getting a campsite in Zion National Park was difficult. So, I had a great little drive up to the park and arrived to full campsites at 8am. So, I drove to a random place that said they had campsites for $12 a night and it is awesome! I got to drive through the park and was floored by the size of these cliffs and the texture of the rocks. It looks like there were these HUGE paintbrushes that created random lines in the rocks, some are criss-crossed and some are just waves of texture. It looks like you can walk on the waves, but really they’re super thin edges that are a little scary to walk on! I just explored the park and got settled in to a great campsite with hot showers!
Sunday 10/22: So, I was feeling a little lonely and blue at this point. It is a LOT of alone time on this trip, which honestly doesn’t bother me too often. However, I typically have an end in sight. At this point, the next friend I would see was a week away! Ughhhh. So, I was trying to figure out ways to feel better. I scrambled up these amazing rocks and laid in the sunshine for a long time. I listened to good music. I read a good book. I even went and stole some wifi and watched a tv show! It all really helped. At home if I’m feeling a tinge

of blue, I kind of allow myself to relish in it and just be the way I am. Here, I HATE feeling blue because it’s such a damper on the trip. So, I work really hard to put it out of my mind and continue on. Which I did! I even met some nice little Canadian girls who gave me all of their extra food as they were flying out the next day. Haha, so YAY!
