Summer Travels

Wednesday – Joey and I had breakfast at the little coffee stand in the Outlet Store. Meat, egg and cheese sandwiches and a coffee milkshake for him. (Was actually pretty good, despite my distaste for coffee.) Stopped by the grocery store to get a few snacks, and ended up back at the apartment to take a nap. He’s not a very good morning person. That, and he had a stomachache from loaded nachos the night before. Vaguely remember those. I slept a bit, and then ended up sitting in bed, reading more of my book before Joey got up. We tried going into town to get (him) a haircut, but got tired of waiting for the bus. Instead, we ventured over to Asylum for ginger ale, and I met Matt – a trolley driver whose fiancé is good friends with the guys. Joey left at some point to meet up with other friends, and I had about an hour and a half until Jay and Ryan were done with work. I ordered myself a Raspberry Wheat, which would quickly become my beer of choice for the week. It is absolutely.delicious. Ended up walking over to the Arctic with Matt. He was a gentleman and bought me 2 Alaska Whites. We sat and chatted for a bit, then I called my mom before Ryan and Jay got there. At this point, I was 3 beers in and no food. Whoops. The boys and I ordered a late lunch from Burger Queen (yes, that’s correct) and sat back over at Asylum to eat. Not that I could eat much – God knows once I saw the greasy, dull chicken fingers and fries, I nearly threw up. Health freak, what? Jay and I went to the Rec Center that evening to go swimming and try out the sauna. We had an awesome time. The water slide was super fun, and we swam around the kiddie area like 6-year olds. Managed to bump my head off of one of those damn flowers that spills over with water once it gets too full – but luckily no major damage done. Though we had driven Ryan’s car up there, Joey needed it to drop some fish off in town, and we were left to walk back. We passed through the outdoor area of the Totem Pole Museum, stopping at a bridge along the way to watch the salmon. Jay dropped me off at the apartment before catching a cab back to his place. I kind of awkwardly slept next to Sam for the first time – him curled up at the top of the bed, and me at the foot.
