I woke up Tuesday morning hungry and wanting some company. Texted David to see if he wanted to get lunch, knowing that he would be off work early. We met up around 11:00 at Fat Stan’s. Ordered a delicious “pollo loco” pie & $11 margaritas with two shots of tequila in them, which I guess makes up for the price. He got the margs, I got the pizza. We chatted over our food and drinks about city living vs. non-city living, lobsters, and just how awesome the life of a Seasonal is. After our meal, we walked over to Asylum in search of Joey, but he wasn’t there. Carlos – owner of the bar – ALMOST had me convinced that he had fired Joey the day before … until he started into this goofy story of how that boy’s eyes are just too pretty for his own good. Well fuck -- can’t argue there.
Spent the afternoon with David at his place, drinking wine and watching Pitch Perfect. I swear, he’s the only guy I’ve ever met that would agree to do that. We sat huddled together on his bottom bunk, wine in hand, calling out every line of the movie right along with the actors.
Since it was my last night in town, I knew that I wanted to spend it in the company of all my friends together – or, at least, the original three. I sent texts to Ryan, Joey, Sam, Danielle, and Devon, and was happy to find that at least Deininger and the older Rovinsky were on board. Never heard back from Sam (though he did show up) nor Devon, and Danielle was still pretty out of whack from her night in the ER. I invited David to join us, as well, and though he seemed tired and hesitant at first, he did end up agreeing to walk back into town with me. Met the rest of the boys for dinner at Chico’s (“best pizza in town!”), and ordered myself some chicken tacos (naturally). All 5 of them – Sam, David, Joey, Jay, Ryan – at one table. Sure as fuck can’t complain about that view. They chatted about dorky things, while I sat and watched their faces, thinking just how lucky they are that they’re all hott. Pretty sure I said that out loud, too. Jay ordered pepperoni pizza, which I tried -- but I'd say that Fat Stan's pies are better.
Four of us ended up at Asylum afterwards, while Sam went home to do laundry. Jay did end up taking the car back the apartment for a bit to get showered and warmed up, but then met back up with us at the bar about an hour later. Met a guy who apparently is going to jail? Kinda missed the whole story, but he gave us smoked salmon, so the boys were happy. I even tried a little bit – and while the smoky taste was good, there was still that hint of fish. Blah. I did, however, wash it down with a delicious Blueberry Pancake shot – something I saw written on the Specials board behind us. I don’t remember exactly what all Joey told me was in it, but I do know that it involved Jameson, blueberries, and a chaser of orange juice. Um, yes….I have to try that. Guys all over the bar were watching me, going “The hell is that?!?” Hopefully I inspired some other great young minds out there to be so bold. David left pretty early on, only to then be replaced by a few other guys that I didn’t know. Good thing they were there though, cause they were able to take our picture for us. :) At the end of the night, I rode back to the apartment with Ryan and Jay, who dropped me off, and crawled into bed.
