Arriving in Agra we checked in to the super swanky Hotel Clarks Shiraz with enough time to quickly change and have dinner. It had been a long journey and we were tired, plus we had to be up early for our visit to the Taj Mahal at dawn the next day, so off we went to bed.
We were up and off early the next day collected by our very knowledgable excellent guide Sanjay, he was very over qualified for his job. We got back in the plush minibus and set off for the Taj, which was just minutes away. Sometimes there are just no words, the place was magical at dawn, just look at the pictures, they don’t
do it justice. It is so equisite, even with 120,000 visitors a day it still has a peace about it that is beautiful.
Then we were back to Hotel Clarks Shiraz for breakfast on the top floor restaurant, it was a hazy day and usually you can see the Taj and the Red Fort which would have been breathtaking. In fact the breakfast was probably as breathtaking, anything you wanted was there, Nick ate three full English breakfasts!! It was amazing :)
