Ships log day 90

Phuket Thailand, 04.04.2017

In Phuket (pronounced Foo Ket) hot and sunny travelled 23,650 miles. A very comfortable 38 degrees today never drops below 23 degrees here. A very lovely tropical island again white sandy beaches and lush vegetation. Our tour took us round the island and saw the main sites, it seems mildly prosperous and relies on tourism mostly. Very Chinese influence, 95% Buddhist. I have found it a myth they bury Muslims in the standing position but they do bury Chinese with fenshui in mind, all buried in the same direction and on a hill closer to their God. So far for me Buddhism seems the most sensible if you took out the reincarnation part of it. Sorry about all the religious stuff but it's always one of the subjects the guides and lecturers give us. We went to a typical Thai theatre with their music and dancing also we watched a kick boxing bought very entertaining. We now have a well deserved 3 days at sea next stop India. Photos of us at the most southerly point.
