Safaga/Luzor/Valley of the Kings Eygypt, 21.04.2017

In Egypt and parked up at Safaga and a very pleasant 41 degrees it is. Our tour took us through the Red Sea mountain range and then some 60 miles through the desert, seeing a type of landscape we have not seen before to Luxor and the ancient temple complex of Karnak largest temple ever built 2500 years ago by the Pharaohs, its size is immense. Then on to our lunch in a beautiful hotel on the bank of the Nile. After that on to The Valley of the Kings, where all the ancient Kings of Egypt are entombed, and were hewn deep into the mountains to hide them from robbers, which didn't really work. We went into several tombs including Tut Ankh Amun very interesting and have amassed a huge amount of knowledge about the ancient world. Very few cars here in Egypt and preferred mode of transport is the donkey so wall to wall donkeys here, the Rolls Royce donkey is the Camel, I tried to sell Bren for a Camel but was only offered a donkey ( watch this space). Tomorrow we are in Jordan. Photos of Rameses the 3rd and his small wife and one of me in Kanak.
