This morning Eric and I created Game of Thrones music playlists for our iphones. We then did the walk along Dubrovnik’s famous city walls – an incredible experience (not to be missed). It took about 1.5 hours, lots of stairs – very high up, looking down onto cliffs that drop into the sea. For these vantage points you get amazing views of the sea and surrounding islands, boats and kayakers as well as the Old City's red roofs. We did the walk early in the morning and missed a lot of the tourist crowds.

In the afternoon we walked south to St. Jacob Beach and checked out the Excelsior Hotel on the way. This internationally famous hotel is very popular with European celebrities and has been visited by Queen Elizabeth, Margaret Thatcher, Edward Kennedy, Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton and Sophia Loren. We took a few pictures of ourselves lounging in the reception area and then headed off to the laid back family beach down the road (much more our speed).

It was a perfect way to spend our last day in Croatia.
