Europe

We woke up today at 2:45pm. Seriously! We decided we were either roofied or had serious jet lag. Nevertheless, we were determined to salvage what was left of the day and quickly headed off to try and make the tail end of the Lindengracht Market.

Missed the market. All the vendors were packing up their wares as we arrived but we were able to buy some delicious blackberries and raspberries. So we walked the streets munching on fruit.

As that was not enough sustenance, we stopped and bought coffees and a panini and sat on a street bench watching the world go by: people on bicycles, babies in strollers, partiers (lots of bachelor and bachelorette parties going on this weekend in Amsterdam).

We found a killer clothing store and did some serious retail therapy. AmsterdamWerk. Cool, unique, one-of-a-kind custom clothing. So excited about our new purchases, we headed back to our hotel to get ready for a dinner cruise.

I know that sounds super cheesy but the our dinner cruise was incredible. Totally recommend Amsterdam Jewel Cruises. Elegant dining and a wonderful way to see the city. We even explored the Red Light District via the canals.

Great day. Accomplished a lot despite the fact that we didn't get out the door until after 3. Unfortunately, sleeping 14 hours did not bode well for falling asleep...

We watched the movie Loving Vincent at around 1am. Tried to fall asleep at around 3am. Gave up at 4am and read books for an hour. Attempted sleep again at 5:30 and gave up again at 7am. Neither of us slept at all as we embarked on our last morning in Amsterdam.
