Small Moments Like These

The next two days I can say are the most random two days of the whole trip. First I have a meal and a drink with a retired couple who had lived in Hawaii for 40 years and moved to Chiang Mai, but didn't want children because they loved their life too much and they have literally travelled to every continent. They even invited me round whenever I was in the area but I passed on that occasion. They told me to go to a blues open mic night the following night, a kind of scene I expect the famous Bernie Hartley to be doing around the world at this present moment (Linden Bridge Legend).

Chiang Mai / Krabi

The next two days I can say are the most random two days of the whole trip. I decided to take a walk and see what the fuss was about at this Blues Bar and it was a great move. A rooftop bar with waitresses filling you're drinks up when there low right to the top, with the red wine costing £1.50 a glass I was gonna be pissed on 6 quid which is a big change to a night in Ministry Of Sound costing well over £100. The crowd in there were of a mature age (30-70) which was definitely different to the Sutton Revs crowd I had been used to for many years, but everyone was having a great laugh and a dance with not a care in the world. 90% of the bands were from America and had beards and it definitely felt like I was in Alabama not Thailand! The other 10% were Thai bands who did try but it was like the scene out of Rush hour 2. I ended up raving the night away with a guy who looked like Bob Hoskins in an Arsenal tracksuit (Check picture).

Just checked into the hotel of luxury and mother has arrived!! Some very nice food and cocktails within the first hour were had. Gin & Tonic & Mohitos are a regular order with chicken from the street market whenever we walk past. The last two weeks have finally caught up with me, with all the alcohol, cold air con and street food as I now have a cold.

A gym session and Lord of the rings on the TV, and in bed by 11 it feels like home.

Hoping to sleep this cold off ready for the weekend and the arrival of my sister, and I get to meet Sam for the first time. A visit to the James Bond Island and Lobster on Christmas Dinner, this is going to be a weird Christmas. A Skype to father and pepper will definitely take up and hour or two!!

Have a good Christmas everyone!!
