My diary

We left home yesterday morning at 6:30 to cross the border over to Nicaragua. Costa Rica's tourism policy is the tourists must leave the country every 90 days. We are staying in Costa Rica for 91 days which meant we had to leave Costa Rica before then. We went over the border and to our hotel which took about 3 hours. The city was beautiful. The buildings are brightly colored and have the same Spanish-colonial feel that Spain has.
The hotel was beautiful. All the hotel rooms looked out into the courtyard inside the hotel which had a pool and luscious green plants growing everywhere yet it was in the middle of the city. Throughout the trip we walked around the city, went out to eat, went on a boat tour on Lake Nicaragua, and took a horse drawn carriage around the city. I know, talk about touristy.
