Barcelona Day 2

Day 2 in Barcelona we hung out at the beach then went on a motorcycle tour of the city. The morning at the beach started out great. We had a lot of family time in the sea. I forgot my underwater camera so there are only a couple of pictures. Things went downhill when Penelope got stung by a jellyfish. I didn't realize washing off a jellyfish sting in fresh water would make it worse. Lesson learned. We went to the lifeguard and he rubbed any leftover stingers out with sea water then gave Penelope some magic ice in a rubber glove finger. This only helped as long as the ice lasted. We went back and got a couple more then decided we should walk to the pharmacy to

get something for the pain. That was pretty much the end of the beach day.
We are staying in a beach town called Castelldefels. It's about 25 minutes from the city center of Barcelona. We asked the front desk to call a taxi so we could get into the city for our motorcycle tour. They informed us there was a 2 day taxi strike so the bus was our best option. We headed out to the bus stop. It was hot and Penelope still wasn't feeling great. Instead of the 30 minute taxi ride we were expecting, we were going to be on a bus for a little over an hour. We were hungry and worried we would be late for our tour. The bus ended up not being too bad and we got off at a stop very near our tour so we were able to get a quick bite to eat.
Our tour guides were wonderful. We saw much of the city and learned a lot about it. Penelope and Reilly were more interested in whose motorcycle was going faster. Things were great until we stopped and Reilly burned his leg on the motorcycle exhaust. Our guide was able

to get him some ice and we saw some more sights on the way to their office to get burn cream and bandages. We didn't get too many pictures because it's not easy to take pictures on the back of the motorcycle.
We ended the day with a typical Spanish meal. Well, maybe not a typical meal but we ate it at Spanish dinnertime. The kids loved it but I'm not a huge fan of dinner at 10:00.
