January Trip 2015

On this day our members will be visiting Tsarevets in Veliko Tarnovo. The inescapable symbol of this proud medieval town, this reconstructed fortress dominates the skyline, and is one of Bulgaria’s most beloved monuments. It features remains of more than 400 houses, 18 churches and numerous monasteries, dwellings, shops, gates and towers. Looking at the picture on the right, it seems as if this may be the most exciting part of the trip.

After the visit to the beautiful Tsarevets, our members will be visiting Arbanasi, Veliko Tarnovo. Arbanasi is known for the rich history and large number of historical monuments, such as 17th- and 18th-century churches and examples of Bulgarian National Revival architecture.

Veliko Tarnovo
