Not being massively experienced on a motorbike I was a little nervous driving the 2 of us and our 2 bags on the dangerous Vietnamese roads. The bike was also only 100cc making uphill driving rather slow at times. However the first ride to Nha Trang went relatively smoothly. Unfortunately the weather wasn't nice and at one point visibility was reduced to 15m. This ruined the views on what we were told was one of the most beautiful drives in Vietnam.
We had our first breakdown after refuelling when the throttle seamed to brake. We pushed the bike 200m down the road where it got fixed for 5 dollars and we were on our way again.
When we got to Nha Trang we turned up to a hostel we had been recommended to find it only had 1 bed. It was dark by now and we had already spent half an hour trying to find this place. Eventually the lovely desk lady called her boss and said we could share a bed for the night. It was a tight squeeze but we managed it. Nha trang was a nice place to relax on the beach but was very touristy and full of Russian holiday makers. This made it more expensive than we were used to and one day on the beach was enough for us.

Our next ride was a lengthly 190 miles to Quy Nhon. Unfortunately as we both had a time scale we didn't have time to slowly ride through the mountain roads of Vietnam. We instead took the main highway along the coast. It did have some beautiful parts to it, but there were many lorries and buses which made the riding hard going.
On the ride we had a serious break down as well. We started to notice the bags slipping back off the rack. Thinking we hadn't tied them tight enough we stopped to realise the whole bag rack had snapped off. This left us in a massive dilemma as we weren't near a town we knew of and had no way to tie the bags to the bike. An hour later we had managed to get everything strapped to something but it wasn't going to hold for long. Lucky there was a town about 20 minutes up the road. There we managed to find a welder and a mechanic who helped fix the rack for only 3 dollars. Once again we got on our way and arrived in Quy Nhon just before dark.
