Our day began with packing and breakfast yet again. I had to put all my clothes today into the duffel bag so I could fit all my purchased in my main bag. My feet still hurt and so today will be a tennis shoe day. That’s alright of course since we are traveling. We tried to not head over to the train station to early since we know they don’t even post the platform until 30 minutes before but we get antshy and mom wants to go to the post office and have a café before we head off. We are trying to have more traditional Italian type coffees these days so they don’t get irriitated with us. I have a café normale sometimes which I think is just shots of espresso. We ordered cappucinos today and some pastries. Why not eat again. If you buy a café you can use the bathroom and don’t have to pay. That’s a nice benefit I guess.
There was either an accident on the train tracks or a fire in Bologna and our train is delayed several times. In total it ended up being about 1 hr and 15 minutes. They queued us up once and mom and I almost got on the wrong train to who knows where. After not have the right seating numbers I asked one of the porters who told me it was the wrong train. I ran down to where we stored our bags and yanked them off just before they left the station. It was a close call. Then they told us we had to come off the platform because our train was further delayed. We tried to see if we could get on another train but it wasn’t going to be easy and just as we were giving in our train pulled into the station.
We pulled into Rome around 12:30 and walked to the hotel. We were early and couldn’t check in yet. We put our suitcases in a room and looked for a bathroom. After we came out our room was ready and we had decided to on taking the tour bus. It was warm so we decided to

Rome Italy

We pulled into Rome around 12:30 and walked to the hotel. We were early and couldn’t check in yet. We put our suitcases in a room and looked for a bathroom. After we came out our room was ready and we had decided to on taking the tour bus. It was warm so we decided to
change clothes and then head out. I forgot the map in the room but we found the meeting point for the bus and were able to get on and take the full loop around the city. We hadn’t eaten since breakfast so we found a restaurant. They were watching the soccer match so we joined in. The food wasn’t outstanding and neither was the service but we enjoyed a relaxing time watching some football and drinking some wine. Time to head back to the hotel for some rest and relaxation. The internet was faster and were able to watch one of the movies mom rented. Not a bad first day. Tomorrow the plan is to see the coliseums and St. Pauls Cathedral where the Sistine chapel is. I don’t know if we’ll make it to the Vatican or not but should be good. We also want to see the Trevi fountain. Wish us luck and good feet for our last day. : (
