Back Across the Pond

We are up at sunrise to begin are final trek home. The Concierge had arranged for a taxi and we beat the morning rush and were dropped off at Heathrow. It was a short 45 minute flight to Dublin.

Once again we are amazed by the efficiency of travel in Europe. We checked our bags in London and will not see them again until Omaha. But, the cool part was US Customs clears you in Dublin. A quick stroll through security and the agent shows you your bag on a monitor and ask if it yours. I say yes and we are good to go.

But wait, we have time to kill before our plane leaves. Buster gets

parked in the gate area and Sandy wanders off to the Duty Free shop. It is her lucky day! They are have a whiskey tasting. Several drams latter she returns with her final purchase, a bottle of Bushmills. It turns out to be only available at airports in Europe and was a limited run. It was one of the finest we have ever tasted.

The eight hours to Chicago went by fast. We have five hours to kill in O'Hare and as usual late afternoon storms are rolling through. Not to worry we find two bar stools and weather out the storm. We also enjoyed airport pizza that was incredible. It might have been withdrawl from be gone for weeks.
