We took a trip to Giverny, to the home and gardens of Claude Monet.

Claude Monet lived for forty-three years, from 1883 to 1926, in his house in Giverny. With a passion for gardening as well as for colors, he conceived both his flower garden and water garden as true works of art. Visitors can walk through the house and gardens, including the water garden.

Monet has always been my favorite impressionist painter. Seeing the gardens which inspired so much of his work was an incredible experience.

The pictures can partially capture the beauty. But what they can’t capture are the sounds of the birds or the scents emanating from the trees and flowers. The water garden is easily one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been.
