It's been my dream ever since: I've always wanted to go on a road trip in the USA, see different places, meet different people. And this year I'm gonna realize it!
The trip justifiably bears the title "The American Dream Tour": 4,270 km through 4 states on a Harley Davidson! I've never been so excited! For weeks now I've been preparing for - hopefully - everything, ordering stuff, writing lists... Although it's still so far away. But who cares, one can never be prepared enough, right?
Last July I took the opportunity to ride a Road King during the Harley Days in Vienna. I've never even touched a Harley before, so some would say I'm crazy for going on that trip, not knowing if I
a) can even ride one, and
b) am physically able to spend three weeks on the back of a huge, heavy and powerful motorcycle.

I can honestly say: it was the most comfortable ride of my life. Riding a Harley really is like chilling on a (massage) couch. One guy driving behind me even asked me later for how long I've been riding them. He didn't believe it was my first time and told me I was a natural! Imagine how proud I was!
This test ride really boosted my confidence and was so important for me in order to have a good feeling about going on this trip. If I hadn't done that, I'm sure I'd be way more anxious and worried about what's gonna happen in the US.
There's just one thing I can't prepare for... I'm sharing my hotel room with a total stranger (a female, of course!). I just hope we get along well and have fun on our little adventure!
Alright now, I still have quite some time left until I leave for Las Vegas and I really hope that nothing interferes with my travel plans. When I was 20 I wanted to explore the world. I've always dreamed of travelling, getting to know other countries and their culture. In the past ten years I haven't had neither time nor money to do that, but I feel that now is the perfect time to start going on adventures and living my life to the fullest.
