Spent first full day in Florida's capitol, Tallahassee. Nice little college town, home to Florida State University and Florida A&M.
Yesterday was a travel day from St. Augustine to Tallahassee. We are camping at the North Florida Fairgrounds. Our caravan leaders are from this area.
No real event-filled day except that we faced timed with our granddaughter, Cora! What a sweetie. She loves to control the iPhone. We took a few snaps of her during our conversation.
Today we started out by visiting the Tallahassee Museum, which is a combo of natural history, zoo and cultural history (N. Florida farm layout, animal pens with panthers, hogs, foxes, white squirrels, etc., and early FL school houses and black church).

Today we started out by visiting the Tallahassee Museum, which is a combo of natural history, zoo and cultural history (N. Florida farm layout, animal pens with panthers, hogs, foxes, white squirrels, etc., and early FL school houses and black church).
Lunch was definitely cool. The place was rated #1 on TripAdvisor and named Cool Beanz. Tim had the trout with chopped season greens,
mashed sweet potatoes and green beans, Pat went with an unique BLT: bacon, fried green tomatoes (how Southern), fried egg, arugula. The menu changes constantly, so we'll probably return before we skip town. This was definitely the best restaurant meal on this trip if not all time, if you'll pardon the hyperbole. Had to smile when we saw a yellow lab sitting with his family at the table next to us intently staring at one of the kids in hopes of a bit of food. Reminded us of Anna & Abby.
Finished up our Sunday at St. Thomas More Church, which is the student parish for FSU Seminole kids. The place was packed with 20-somethings who were totally involved, which was awesome to see.
