- Where did I go?
- What did I do?
- Who was I with?
- What did I eat?
- How did we get there?
- My Favourite part of the day?
- What was the weather like?
- People I met? Write each day about someone you met that day. Describe everything about them: How they looked, how they talked, their mannerisms, how they made you feel. How did they make you feel? Did you learn anything from them? Have they changed you in a profound way?
- What did I learn?
- Keep a budget. Record how much you paid for your travel activities and things you bought.
- List everything you’re thankful for. Challenge yourself with how many things you can write each day
- Maps from google maps copied and pasted.
- How to say: hello, goodbye, please, thank you, bathroom, and water in the local language
- Pictures of the day.

Other ways to add creative writing to your journal:

* Document the animals you see. Were the animals different from what you see at home?
* List the songs, movies or books you listened to and read during your trip. Even better, rate the songs and books and write a short review
* Write what how your expectations were different from reality. Was it different than you expected?
* Document your interaction with local people. Could you understand them? Did you need to ask for directions? Did you attempt an unfamiliar language?
* Record conversations. What did you hear people talking about?
* Record your feelings. How did the trip make you feel? Would you do it again?
* List unusual words. Write down common words that have different meanings. For example, in North America, the storage area at the
