Day 1 of ski school can be really frustrating (especially when you're a beginner like me and you have never put on a pair of skis!). To start of (as you would think) we started with learning to balance (which I found really hard and challenging) I didn't succeed until the very end. Then we started gradually moving to something harder. At the end we had learnt to brake, climb uphill, balance and turn. When I got back I was begging to go for more so my cousin Sam, his dad Matt, my dad, Isla (my sister) and I went up to a slope we thought we could conquer, and it turns out only the Dads and my nearly 8 cousin Sam (who was a very talented skier) could get down with ease, Isla and I struggled crashing, falling and even butt skiing! By lunch I was pretty disappointed with my skiing.
After lunch we went out again but this time Matt gave me some helpful advice and I went whizzing down with the others controlling my skis with ease. so at the end of the day I was very happy and raring to go and the others were too.
