Well today wasn’t quite the day we had in mind. I may have neglected to report in an earlier post that we treated the family in London for head lice, after we noticed Oscar scratching a lot. He probably picked them up from trying on lots of hats and helmets over the course of our Cotswolds stay. We thought we were rid of the buggers, but today we discovered that Annie had some!

So after a couple of trips to the pharmacy, we managed to re-treat everyone in our family, and our hosts also had to treat themselves, given the kids had been playing pretty closely together. To make matters worse, after one herbal treatment on Annie’s hair, Amelia still managed to comb out four lice - that were well and truly alive! So we gave her a couple of doses (herbal first and then full strength chemical). We finished by using hair straightening irons to fry any remaining. I think I've discovered the one benefit to being bald.

I took the boys out in the afternoon for a playground crawl, and we managed to visit three fun playgrounds along the waterfront before the boys had finally had enough, tired and hungry. On the way home we passed a statue in honour of Julius Caesar, as Nyon was a Roman city founded around 50 BC, becoming one of the most important colonies in modern day Switzerland.
